ISPRAccording to the Inter Services Public Relationining (ISPR), Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javid Bajwa has sealed signatures on the death sentence of Commander Yadav. According to Pakistani authorities, Commander Yadav is a serving Commander (Lieutenant Colonel) in the Indian Navy who was arrested while crossing from Iran to Baluchistan last year. According to ISPR, Kalbhoshan Yadav was on a mission to sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and supervise the anti Pakistan activities of Baluch insurgents.

Mr. Yadav was under trial in a military court since his arrest. The military courts were established after the terrorist attacks on the Army Public School in Peshawar in 2015 where more than 150 children were killed and dozens other wounded. Establishment of the military courts was decided under the National action plan. Tenure of the military court has been extended for the second term of 2 years after a constitutional amendment from the Pakistani legislature.

The trial was conducted in a field general court martial and was approved by the COAS, General Bajwa immediately. According to the sources, Commander Yadav was facilitated with a lawyer in order to defend him in the court. Commander Sudhir Yadav was arrested in an anti-terrorist operation on March 3, 2016.

According to details, Mr. Yadave was working in Pakistan under his cover name Mubarak Patel. In the presence of a magistrate, Mr. Yadave confessed that he is an in-service Indian Navy officer and entered to Pakistan for sabotage and terrorist activities.

Pakistani authorities aired a video of the said convict in which he was shown confessing all the allegations leveled against him. In the video, Mr. Yadave is looking healthy and compromised. He admits that he is telling all the truth under no pressure or torture.
